Doha: As the Official bank Sponsor of this year's edition of the Smart City expo Doha 2022, QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, is displaying its latest digital banking products and services at the bank's pavilion organised during the two-day event.

This participation provides the bank with the unique opportunity to display its latest digital solutions and innovative products tailored to suit the changing needs of customers. It also affirms the bank's keenness to showcase its brand, the most valuable in the MEA, among the biggest international brands in digital and smart services during this event, bringing together experts from all over the world to discuss the smart city system in urban areas.

The event demonstrates QNB's commitment to address customers' changing needs with the highest and most advanced levels of service including: QR Pay, QNB Pay, WeChat, FacePay, Smart Card Kiosk and QNB Simplify, which are some of the services available for visitors to experience at QNB's booth at the Expo.

The booth's visitors will have chance to explore QR Pay through Mobile Banking, a new feature that enables customers to pay using a QR code at participating merchant partners and is available on both iOS and Android devices, along with simple and secured contactless payments through Apple Pay, Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay. QNB was the first Bank in Qatar to introduce these payment options to customers.

QNB will also demonstrate its self-service bankcard issuance capability with the introduction of Smart Card Kiosk. This state of the art machine allows customers to apply for a prepaid card, replace their existing credit or debit cards, PIN change capabilities and even top-up the prepaid cards. All these can be performed without the reliance of staff, restriction of banking hours or location.

QNB, in association with Visa and PopID, provides visitors with a FacePay demonstration of this state of the art technology that allows customers to purchase using facial biometric credentials, securing frictionless payments during check out.

The booth is also displaying innovative banking solutions developed by QNB aimed at meeting SME's needs and expanding its networks for merchant partners. QNB's smart android-based terminals create the perfect platform to drive innovation and expansion into areas of emerging and alternative payment acceptance. QNB Simplify is a complete and affordable payment gateway platform that allows businesses or SMEs to access cards payment via their own online store. Some of the main features are e-invoicing, web store design and simple integration of online payment on their website.

QNB's merchant network in Qatar is now fully equipped to accept WeChat Pay, the first bank in Qatar to launch service, offering a safe and contactless payment solution, which is extensively used (especially by Chinese consumer) to cater for large visiting contingent from China, travelling to or via Qatar.

Speaking at the event, Adel Al Malki, Group GM Retail Banking Division said,“Visitors at the QNB Booth at the Smart City Exhibition are able to get first-hand experience of the various offerings that we are introducing from QR Pay to self-issuance of cards through our Smart Card Kiosk.“
