Foreign soldiers answer President Zelensky's call
Nicknamed 'Wali', an elite and fearsome Sniper from Canada has reached Ukrain and vowed to volunteer in the fight against Russia. According to the latest reports, Wali has killed six Russian soldiers after arriving on Wednesday with the Canadian contingent. Sniper Wali came to Ukraine as a part of the Ukrainian president's call asking foreign soldiers to join the nation in the fight against Russia. His arrival has given more hope to the nation.“I want to help them. It's as simple as that. I have to help because there are people here being bombarded just because they want to be European and not Russian,” said the sniper.
Who is Sniper Wali?
The elite soldier is only known by his nickname, Wali. It translates to guardian or protector in Arabic. Sniper Wali is a 40-year olf French-Canadian worker and was working as a computer scientist and programmer in Canada. He leaves behind his wife and son, who is going to turn one soon. What makes Wali a very dangerous sniper is that he can provide up to 40 kills per day. While a good sniper gets about five to six kills per day, a great sniper gets around seven to 10. His incredible stats make him a legend among the world's army.
He has served twice in the Afghanistan war during the 2009 and 2011 operations in Kandahar. He earned his nickname during his time in Afghanistan as he was using his rifle to take out several enemies. Belonging to the Royal Canadian 22nd regiment, he earned his reputation during tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Additionally, he was part of the elite JTF-2 unit which is famous for the longest distance record of a kill at 3,540 meters. The record was established as he shot an IS jihadist in June 2017 in Iraq.
