Saudi - Dr. Al-Rabeeah Checks Work Progress at Humanitarian Projects of KSrelief at Zaatari Camp in Jordan


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Amman, March 9, 2022, SPA -- The Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah paid a visit today to check on Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan's Mafraq Governorate. He was accompanied by Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef Al-Sudairi and several KSrelief leaders and voluntary team to check on work progress of humanitarian projects that the center is implementing to ensure that humanitarian programs are offered at the level that provides the highest relief services to refugees.
Dr. Al-Rabeeah also visited the office of the UNHCR at the Zaatari camp and listened to a briefing by representatives on the various humanitarian services provided for camp residents, where he also visited the office of the camp administration and offices of UN and international organizations working there and discussed with them joint humanitarian projects and future plans and programs, as well as means to develop conditions at the camp.
Later on, the supervisor general visited the supply center affiliated with the World Food Program (WFP) at the Zaatari camp and listened to a briefing about the tasks of the center and provided humanitarian and relief services, and discussed joint projects between KSrelief and WFP to provide basic foodstuff for Syrian refugees.
Then Dr. Al-Rabeeah toured the headquarters of the educational center and social center affiliated with KSrelief with the aim of checking on the diversified training, educational and social courses provided for Syrian refugees, including computer science, basic sciences, the Arabic language, mathematics and health education, in addition to courses on sewing, making clothes, teaching embroidery, arts and handicrafts, which aim at developing refugees' skills and life expertise to be a supporter to them under these difficult living conditions that they are going through.
He also visited medical specialized clinics affiliated with KSrelief with the aim of checking on the comprehensive medical and health system offered for patients and injured people in various departments, listening to a briefing from specialist doctors on the mechanism of work and clinics' roles in alleviating the suffering of Syrian refugees who visit them round the year, expressing his admiration of the quality of medical care that is provided by KSrelief clinics for Syrians and their families, noting that the work of clinics inside the camp is characterized by accuracy, professionalism and perfection, in addition to having modern and developed medical equipment.
The supervisor general also checked on the training courses offered in the fields of first aid and search and rescue, which are implemented under a project for economic empowerment and support.
Later on, Dr. Al-Rabeeah inaugurated several new facilities in the camp, such as physiotherapy hall, search and rescue hall, computer lab, alternative energy program and a carpeting workshop with the aim of improving the living conditions of refugees.
He also distributed electric chairs on people with disabilities inside the camp and participated in diagnosing and treating some cases in the compressive medical clinic.
Dr. Al-Rabeeah, at the conclusion of his tour, expressed appreciation for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's government and people for the big efforts exerted in hosting Syrian refugees and overcoming challenges facing them, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, is keen on alleviating the suffering of Syrian refugees in Jordan, referring to the strategic partnership with UN organizations and agencies to serve and help refugees and host communities, noting that that the center always seeks to highlight the bright civil image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its endeavors to help the needy across the world, including refugees.
