Qatari delegation reviews developments in Oman's customs procedures

Muscat: A delegation of the General Authority of customs (GAC) was briefed during a visit to Oman on the latest operations and customs procedures in the Sultanate.

Chairman of the General Authority of Customs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal headed the delegation. 

The visit came in the framework of continuous cooperation between GAC and its Omani counterpart. It aimed to exchange experiences and strengthen customs relations between the two countries.

The Qatari delegation visited the Omani customs headquarters and the Khatmat Milaha and Al Buraimi ports. It was briefed on inspection systems, x-ray machines, and vehicle inspection mechanisms managed by Omani customs.

Also, the delegation reviewed the latest developments of the single window system (Bayan) on customs clearance procedures at Omani customs, and many customs operations, including the evaluation unit, the audit unit, the risk system, the routes, the pre-checks, and other customs procedures, in addition to identifying the mechanism of electronic integration between Omani customs and government and private entities whose work is linked to import and export operations.
