Doha: The 73rd Republic Day of India 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' was celebrated with joy and patriotic fervour at Birla Public School.
The flag was unfurled by the Head boys and Head girls of various sections in the presence of all the Senior Leadership team led by the management representatives, Chindhu Antony Rappai, Academic Director-Principal, Harish Sanduja, Head of Non-Academics, Vinod Kumar K V, Vice-Principals, Headmistresses, Head of various Departments, Year Coordinators, Teachers, Admin and supporting staff at the school's main campus.
Addressing the audience, Sanduja communicated that believing in a common cause and living together is the secret of human survival.
Raksha Muthukumar and Reece Mujeeb from the Secondary School orchestrated the virtual programme.
While addressing the virtual audience, Sanduja presented a PowerPoint on 'Heroes.' He explained about Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, how he founded ISRO, and the rough beginnings of any innovative venture. Enumerating the recent unique achievements, he reiterated that the future of“our country was bright and the students need to acknowledge the greatness of our Nation.”
The students of Kindergarten presented a performance entitled“Azadi Ke Diwane.” A song by the school choir followed it. Rabindranath Tagore's poem 'Where the mind is without fear' was presented by Primary 2, followed by a solo dance performance by Gowri Subhir Menon.
Desna Dennis Thattil, from the Senior Secondary Section, enlightened the audience on patriotism with her speech“Declamation of patriotism.”
