Tedros Ghebreyesus set for 2nd time as WHO leader

(MENAFN) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is selected for a second time as ruler of the World Health Organization when the worldwide health organization’s managerial board chosen him as the only applicant for a procedural leadership ballot in May.

Tedros expressed thanks to the board for its backing in the previous five years, and said “Of course, the last two years have been difficult. The whole world is sick and tired. They want to have the pandemic behind them. Families want to get together again, children would like to go back to school without any fear.”

He added “But we are still challenged by omicron,” then underlined that the world can face the pandemic.

“I believe that in 2022, the acute phase of the pandemic will be over because all of us are sick and tired.”
