Australia supports Ukraine in battle with Russia


(MENAFN) The Australian Financial Review stated, the Australian officials are thinking about implementing extra penalties on Russia if it starts a new attack on Ukraine.

Australia's Foreign Minister Marise Payne reported, "They [new sanctions against Russia] are a potential tool Australia can use in concert with like-minded countries.” As the minister mentioned, Western nations opposed the “bullying” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She further stated, the government of Australia was contemplating the offering of cyber security to Ukraine, however, military assistance was not included in the talks.

In the past week, Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba conducted his initial phone call with Australia’s Foreign Minister Marise Payne regarding joining the global union to back Ukraine.
