Ex Lebanese PM Hariri postpones political work

(MENAFN) A well-known previous Lebanese PM stated that he “suspended” work in Lebanon’s politics, while protesting on external effect and a fragmented community.

Prime minister Saad Hariri at a TV press session, announced he is not going to participate in the next governmental polls and will not file any nominations from his political group, the Future Movement.

Hariri added "I am convinced that there is no room for any positive opportunity for Lebanon in light of Iranian influence, international confusion, national division, sectarianism, and state weariness," and went on to say "I announce the suspension of my work in political life,” while requesting his group to endure the governmental polls scheduled for May 25.

He further declared "Our decision is to suspend any direct role or responsibility in power and politics in its traditional sense."
