AMMAN — Oman's Ambassador to Jordan Hilal Al Mumari on Thursday called for focusing on the economic aspect of Jordanian-Omani relations during the coming period, especially that the volume of economic cooperation is still below envisioned levels.

Speaking during a meeting with a media delegation from the Omani Journalists Association (OJA) and a number of Jordanian journalists, Mumari said that the bilateral relations are 'historic and deep-rooted', the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ambassador also stressed the importance of the media's role in strengthening Jordanian-Omani relations.

Also on Thursday, Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez met with the OJA delegates. The minister highlighted Jordan's“unique tourism products”, such as heritage, cultural, medical and religious tourism, in addition to educational travel opportunities in the Kingdom.

The OJA delegation's visit to Jordan comes as part of a training programme provided by the Jordan Media Code Academy, in cooperation with the OJA, which includes courses in media practices.
