DUBAI – December 8, 2021: The Republic of Lithuania from Europe's Baltic region focuses on co-creation of sustainable synergies, inclusiveness, tolerance, and coherence at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Being a key nation among the 192 Expo participants, the Lithuanian pavilion has been designed with window shutters as the main symbol. This highlights the idea of being open to innovations and sharing with the entire nations of the world for the benefit and interest of the people.

Romas Jankauskas, Commissioner General of Lithuanian Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai, and Head of Expo Affairs at the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, spoke about the pavilion's core message of tolerance, and peaceful coexistence of the citizens of the world.

“We take a joint effort with the business sector to introduce Lithuania as a modern, growing state with a great scientific potential, intelligent technology, reliable business, favourable investment climate, which appreciates the value of natural resources, traditions, culture, art and integrates this complex heritage into a global aim to connect minds and create a better future for all,” he said.

“We are well aware of the importance of Expo, and we share tremendous values with other participating countries and organisers. We always bring what we have and created the best to share with the world. It's not only technology, history or culture – we realise that we must introduce our country as a whole,” Jankauskas added.

He reiterated that Lithuania has a long-term participation strategy. However, it seems impossible to leave out a certain degree of spontaneity. It's in the nature of Expo.

“Our presence at the Expo 2020 is adequate to the size and capabilities of our country to cater to diverse audience. We become part of conversations at the Expos combining technology, science, culture and civic diplomacy. We are demonstrating as a nation our authentic, modern and open character in business, science, culture and art. Our authenticity lies with us being close to the nature and respective of our traditions, history and culture. We also highlight our achievements in life sciences, food chain, technology, FinTech, and our fast-growing startup ecosystem,” he elaborated.

Mantas Svečiulis, pavilion director and head of events Austėja Brasiūnaitė lead a team of twelve guides from Lithuania, assisted by several hired locals, to work with the visitors.

The office of Brand Lithuania, a government initiative for the nation's communication and image development in foreign countries, leads its participation in Dubai Expo.
