French president plans tour to Gulf countries for two days


(MENAFN) On Friday, the French president, Emmanuel Macron initiated an official Gulf tour for two days that involves Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as Qatar.

The French country-run news channel France 24 stated that Macron landed in Dubai before leaving to Qatar late on Friday, mentioning that he is arranged to travel to Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

It also stated that Macron is going to encounter Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani as well as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

France 24 cited two anonymous sources as stating that Paris is going to ink a sum of deals with Abu Dhabi, involving a probable multi-billion-dollar agreement for obtaining 80 French Rafale warplanes.
