NRNA celebrates Dashain at Nepal Embassy

Doha: A programme of exchanging good wishes has been held in Qatar on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami (Dashain), Happy Diwali, Chhath Festival and Nepal Sambat 1142.

The event, organised by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Qatar and various organisations established in Qatar, concluded on Friday at the Nepalese Embassy in Qatar with the exchange of good wishes and Dashain Tika Jamra.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar H E Dr. Narad Nath Bharadwaj said that the celebration of the festival enhance the mutual affection among the Nepalese for their religion, culture and customs. Lauding the dedication of NRNA and various organisations to serve the community during COVID-19 pandemic, he said that the embassy was always ready to cooperate in social work. 

The Ambassador said that the Non-Resident Nepali Association is the guardian behind the embassy for Nepalese all over the world. 

Dr. Bharadwaj, who is preparing to return home after completing his term, said that during his two-year tenure, he had tried his best in favour of Nepali workers and to further enhance the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association Qatar, Mohammad Muktda Musalman, said that the NRNA has been respecting the festivals/rituals of different religions, geographies and castes of Nepal since the past and would continue such programmes in the coming days. He expressed his gratitude to all those who have joined the programme directly and virtually in compliance with the health standards of the government of Qatar.

NRNA Secretary, RK Sharma; (NRNA RC) Region Coordinator, Prabin Gurung; Middle East Youth Coordinator, Raj Regmi; NRNA ICC (Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Council) Advisor, Kul Acharya and ICC Honorary Council Member, Bimal Subedi expressed their best wishes.The participants expressed their gratitude for organising the programme while preserving their religion and culture even while living abroad.
