Saudi Arabia’s alters code to modernize mechanism governing penalties against violators

(MENAFN) The newly alteration on Saudi Building Code has delayed the market, but experts and stakeholders observe this downturn as a transitory period.

The negative effect is impermanent and once the sector overcomes complications, the new regulations will have a positive impact on the construction sector, CEO of Tabuk Cement Co., Ali Al-Saif stated.

The Umm Al-Qura newspaper reported that Saudi Arabia’s Commerce Ministry altered the code last Friday to modernize the mechanism governing penalties against violators. It became valid on Oct. 15.

The effective application of the altered code would assurance the quality of buildings and construction work, according to SBC National Committee General Secretary Saad bin Shuail.
