Saudi-led coalition carries out 118 airstrikes to protect civilians in central Yemen

(MENAFN) According to local media, over 400 Houthi militia members were assassinated in four days of airstrikes done by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen's central Marib province.

Spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki declared that a total of 118 airstrikes were done in 96 hours for the protection of civilians in Al Abdiyah district, the Saudi state-run news agency SPA reported.

Al-Maliki further declared that 15 military vehicles belonging to the militia were damaged.

Al-Maliki also urged international and unofficial humanitarian organizations to accomplish their responsibilities towards civilians in besieged Al Abdiyah.

Air operations performed by the coalition blocked the Houthis' incursion into the region for 18 days, the official added.
