Mexican Ambassador and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Discuss Opportunities for Joint Cooperation


(MENAFN- Mid-East.Info) Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates: His Excellency Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), and Her Excellency Francisca Méndez Escobar, Ambassador of Mexico to the United Arab Emirates, recently discussed how to develop bilateral relations and increase economic cooperation.

The meeting, held yesterday at the Fund’s headquarters, was attended by Mr. Adel Al Hosani, Operations Department Director at ADFD, and several officials at the Mexican Embassy.​​The two sides discussed cooperation mechanisms and the role of ADFD in Latin American countries.

His Excellency Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi welcomed the visiting delegation and reviewed areas in which the Fund and Mexico can jointly collaborate and form a bilateral partnership in several fields. The visit represented an opportunity to enhance cooperation and explore new opportunities that can contribute to achieving sustainable development.

During the meeting, His Excellency reviewed the Fund’s work, its strategic goals and priorities in the field of development and investment aid, in addition to introducing the delegation to development projects and key sectors of focus.

For her part, Her Excellency Francisca Méndez Escobar praised the important role that the Fund plays in supporting sustainable development globally and helping developing countries to achieve their national goals by financing strategic projects. “We look forward to strengthening cooperation with ADFD and benefiting from its expertise in the field of project financing, especially infrastructure projects aimed at achieving comprehensive economic and social development,” Her Excellency added.

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has financed several development projects in Latin American countries, mainly renewable energy projects, which have contributed to improving the quality of life of the population in those countries.
