The“Brazil-UAE: Amazon Economic Sustainability Forum” will take place in the first few days of the Expo 2020 Dubai that starts from October 1st in the UAE, ensuring that Brazil takes the lead in raising awareness on the topic at the beginning of the universal exhibition. The Brazil pavilion at Expo 2020 is themed sustainability , bearing the slogan“Together for Sustainable Development,” and its decoration is based on elements of nature.
“The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce believes that holding this forum is hugely important for furthering the relations between the UAE investors and Brazil in the sector but also to put on everyone's radar that Brazil is a sustainable country, the Amazon region is sustainable, and there's no better way to do this than through a healthy dialogue between Emirati and Brazilians,“ABCC secretary-general & CEO Tamer Mansour said.
The secretary-general argues that Brazil-Arab relations should be taken to a new level, and one of the fronts where this could be possible is sustainability. Mansour says the topic is on the ABCC 2021/2022 agenda and that holding the forum will be the beginning of a process for the institution in which sustainability will be extensively addressed. He says that the presence of UAE and Brazilian officials in the forum on October 3 gives an official support to explore the sector within the two countries’ relations.
In fact, besides Mourão and Al-Marri, other leaders of the public and private sector from both regions will speak at the forum. They include the UAE minister of State for Food and Water Security Mariam Bint Mohammed Al Mheiri, the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry chairman Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply executive secretary Marcos Montes Cordeiro, ABCC president Osmar Chohfi, Brazil's ambassador to the UAE Fernando Igreja, and JBS Fund for the Amazon president Joanita Maestri Karoleski.
