(MENAFN) On Sunday, Sep. 19 Libya’s administration declared it will recommence flights to Egypt’s capital of Cairo later this month.
The Libyan administration's spokesperson Mohamed Hamuda noted: "the civil aviation departments of both countries agreed to take necessary measures to start direct flights from the airports of Mitiga (Tripoli), Misurata, and Benina (Benghazi) to Cairo starting from Sept. 30."
The announcement to recommence flights followed a visit to Cairo paid by Libya’s Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah a few days earlier, where several deals were inked between both nations.
Dbeibah's Government of National Unity was assigned a few months earlier by the UN-backed Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), concluding years of political separation in Libya.
