Doha: The Ministry of Culture and Sports has issued the“Qatarat” book in French.
The book, which was translated by the Department of Publications and Translation (Translation Department) at the Ministry, includes a collection of stories by Qatari authors from the generations of pioneers and youth.
The publication of the book stems from the State of Qatar's vision of the importance of supporting culture and intellectuals, especially authors and writings, to advance the creative process. The book contains 12 different and varied short stories for 12 male and female authors, as these stories were distinguished by their different ideas, the way they were presented, and the different feelings, where the authors varied in the style of writing and presented their visions, and the combination of the two styles (real and imaginary) in the narration.
The Department of Publications and Translation has translated many stories into several languages, including Urdu, Turkish and Spanish, to provide the opportunity for the reader in these languages to read about the Qatari creative cultural environment.
