Flights from BD to China start under special consideration

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has decided to allow operation of flights on some Bangladesh-China routes under“special consideration”.

The decision came on April 20 after reviewing the demands of passengers as well as airline representatives, said CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US Bangla Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern airlines have received the permission to operate passenger flights between the two countries.

A number of Chinese citizens are currently working on various developmental projects in Bangladesh.

CAAB Chairman said flights from Bangladesh will now be operated to six international destinations. Meanwhile, transit flights can depart from Bangladesh but cannot enter the country.

Amid the strict lockdown following the new spread of coronavirus, Bangladesh earlier, suspended all flights to and from the country.

However, from today, both international and domestic flights have resumed on a limited scale while chartered flights, special flights and air ambulances continue to fly.
