Crimea Platform could also be platform for deoccupation of other territories - Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the Crimea platform could become a platform for the deoccupation not only of Crimea, but also of other territories and for the resolution of other regional conflicts.

He stated this in a joint press statement with the presidents of Moldova, Poland and Romania in Chisinau on Friday, August 27, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The Crimea Platform could become a platform for finding ways for the deoccupation of other territories and for the resolution of other regional conflicts. Only by uniting efforts can our states become stronger and quickly achieve the desired result," Zelensky said.

At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine and Moldova are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their independence in difficult security conditions, which continue to test the countries for strength.

Zelensky is on a visit to Chisinau on Friday to attend events marking the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence.

The inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform was held in Kyiv on August 23. Forty-six national delegations participated in the summit.

The Crimea Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations and protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal of deoccupying Crimea and returning it to Ukraine.
