Cambodia posts 7 percent increase in rubber export


(MENAFN)Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Veng Sakhon revealed on Friday, July 2, that Cambodia exported 132,174 tons of dry rubber in the first six months of 2021, increasing 7 percent over the same period of 2020.

Cambodia got USD221 million in gross revenue from rubber export throughout the January-June period, augmenting 38 percent from a year earlier, he wrote on his Facebook page.

The minister added that "A ton of dry rubber averagely cost 1,677 U.S. dollars during the first six months of this year, about 374 dollars higher than that of the same period last year".

The Southeast Asian country exported the commodity mostly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.
