Pro-Palestinian demonstrations held in several key U.S. cities


(MENAFN) On Saturday, May. 15 protesters gathered in streets in several key U.S. cities, calling for an end to Israeli air raids on Gaza.

In the U.S. capital Washington, D.C., hundreds participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations on Saturday afternoon, walking from the Washington Monument to the U.S. Capitol.

Also on Saturday, thousands of people protested in Los Angeles in support of Palestine. A handful of pro-Israel counterprotesters also got together, and police officers maintained the groups divided, reported local media.

An ABC News report said that a protest that began in a neighborhood in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, which has a huge Arabic-speaking community, carried on through the streets for a number of hours on Saturday afternoon.
