Kuleba meets with foreign ministers of Central Five EU countries

(MENAFN- UkrinForm)The foreign ministers of Central Five EU countries (Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic) and Ukraine discussed the issues of vaccination, mobility rights and threats from Russia.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said this at a joint press conference with the foreign ministers, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Kuleba, the participants focused on two issues. The first item was related to COVID-19. The foreign minister said that Ukraine has three priorities:  vaccination, ensuring safe mobility of citizens during the pandemic, as well as supporting business, entrepreneurs and exporters during the difficult times.

"These are three areas where Ukraine is willing to cooperate with members of Central Five, with our good neighbors and partners in the European Union to ensure the vaccination, to promote freedom of movement and promote trade and economic relief for our businesses," Kuleba said.

He noted that the particular attention was paid to the deployment of Russian troops along the Ukrainian borders and the escalation of the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

"I thanked all Central Five counties for strong support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of my country within its internationally recognized borders," the Ukrainian foreign minister stressed.

He added that in recent weeks, Ukraine had the opportunity to "feel this support that was not only in words, but also in the readiness to offer practical assistance to us"

Kuleba also briefed his colleagues about Ukraine’s initiative Crimean Platform and thanked them ''for a very productive discussion and open conversation on all topics”.

As Ukrinform reported, Kuleba is on a working visit to Slovakia on May 12-13, where he for the first time took part in a meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Five (Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic).
