Train derails in Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday


(MENAFN)A train derailed in north of the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday, local media reported causalities.

The Cairo-Mansura passenger train 949 got out of the tracks in the city of Qalyubia, showed a statement from the National Railways Authority of Egypt.

An official source on the condition of anonymity stated that the initial death toll stood at eight, including more than 100 wounds.

Ambulances were sent off to the accident site as rescue efforts continue.
