China: Hunan posts vigorous foreign trade expansion


(MENAFN)Central China's Hunan Province witnessed vigorous expansion in its foreign trade in the first quarter of this year partially thanks to a low base last year because of coronavirus.

The customs in Changsha, the provincial capital, stated on Friday, April 16, that the foreign trade worth hit 115.12 billion yuan (USD17.6 billion) in the province from January to March, it increased 42.7 percent year on year.

The export value augmented by 54 percent year on year to 75.8 billion yuan, while the import increased 25 percent year on year to 39.32 billion yuan.

The thriving crossborder e-commerce trade has added to the burly expansion, with the export value in the sector increasing 237.9 percent year on year to 4.64 billion yuan, the customs added.
