Ukraine, China plan to hold joint meeting on medical cooperation


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine and China plan to hold a meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Subcommission on Medical Cooperation to expand cooperation in various fields of health care.

This was discussed during a meeting between Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in China Zhanna Leshchynska and Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Department of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China Mr. Nie Jiangang on April 14, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in China reports .

"The parties discussed prospects for the development of cooperation and exchange of experience in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the holding of the fifth meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Subcommission on Medical Cooperation," the report reads.

The sides also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation between Ukraine and China in the fields of cardiology, cardiac surgery, transplantology and cancer treatment.

As reported, vaccination with CoronaVac produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech began in Ukraine on April 13. The first batch of CoronaVac vaccine arrived in Ukraine on March 25. So far, Ukraine has received 215,000 doses out of the ordered 1.915 million doses of the vaccine.
