Several new measures have been taken to improve the entry and waiting process for patients wanting to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the National Vaccination Center, which is located at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), stated the ministry in a tweet.

A working team was formed, with participation from several authorities, to study and evaluate the arrival and waiting mechanism with the objective of providing greater levels of safety and comfort for everyone at the center. It was agreed to open the corridors of the ground floor for the public's entry, with separate waiting areas for men and women to ensure privacy and comfort.

Additionally, in order to avoid exposure to the high outdoor temperatures and provide a safe waiting area for all, the center's main parking spots are now being utilized as a point of arrival at the vaccination center.

In addition to providing full security and safety requirements by assigning paramedics, identifying emergency exits and ensuring the effectiveness of air conditioning and ventilation systems, a cafeteria service is now available to the public while they wait to receive their vaccination. The plans are flexible and open to further modification according to the needs of, and any changes in the center's work.

It further added that this development is part of a continuous effort to ensure the safety and security of those wishing to receive the vaccine, especially with the expansion of the groups eligible for vaccination, and is designed to protect the general public, the medical and administrative staff, and the organizers working at the vaccination center.

The ministry stated that authorities taking part in the development and implementation of the new measures include Hamad Medical Corporation, the Primary Health Care Corporation, the Ministry of Interior, Al Fazaa, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, QNCC and Qatar Red Crescent.

The new mechanism is designed to make it easier to receive the vaccine without breaching any safety protocols.

Patients will receive an SMS showing the time and date of their appointment and must present their valid QID card when they attend. The vaccination center's operating hours are 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.
