Qatar- MoCI to add more services to single window


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has planned to add a number of new services under its single-window portal. 

'The future plan for further development of single window includes adding new services such as comprehensive amendment (upgrading), selling services for companies, merging and acquisition and advertisements, said Director of Single Window at MoCI, Mohamad Hamad Al Nuaimi.

Speaking in a Qatar Radio programme yesterday, Al Nuaimi said that the single window is currently offering about ten services including comprehensive establishment, resume comprehensive establishment, comprehensive renewal, factory establishment, resume factory establishment, commercial registration offprint, add branch, issue commercial permit and renew commercial permit.

He said that the single window services received overwhelming response from people because of easy procedures and fast transaction. 'The transaction of single window system increased about 60 percent since it was launched in 2019, said Al Nuaimi.

'The single window system reduced efforts and time of applicants allowing them to avail the services online, said Al Nuaimi.

'Under comprehensive establishment for example, we offer more than one service at one place like reserving a trade name, company incorporation data and commercial registration all in one transaction. 

He said when a person applied for the approvals made online, even attestation of the contract by the Ministry of Justice, will be carried through single window without need to visit the Ministry service center.

'The single window deals the request as per the activities and businesses selected by the users in term of requirements for documents, said Al Nuaimi.

The Single Window initiative is part of Qatar's endeavor to attract local and foreign investments and enhance its position as an ideal destination for investment in the region and the world, according the website of MoCI.

This national initiative aims at facilitating the procedures of starting a business in the country and directing investments to the priority sectors identified in the National Development Strategy 2018-22.

This is done in a way that achieves the national vision to transform Qatar by 2030 into an advanced society capable of achieving sustainable development and securing a high standard of living for its people for generations to come.
