Iraq witnesses 8 new deaths with covid


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Up to eight patients with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) gave up struggle for their lives in Iraq over past 24 hours.
Iraqi Ministry of Health said in a statement, on Wednesday, authorities recorded 879 new infections with the contagious germ, during the same period of time.
It put number of recoveries during the past hours at 1,575.
The caseload is now at 616,259, including 13,018 deaths and 586,327 recoveries.
The pandemic which first broke out in Wuhan, central China late last year, has spilled over to many nations worldwide including the Middle East.
Latest caseload of global infections is estimated 100 million, in addition to 55.4 million recovery cases in addition to 2.16 million mortalities. (end)
