NATO lauds Kuwait's efforts for regional security


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- NATO has praised Kuwait's efforts to maintain peace and security in the region following the successful outcome of the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit held in the Saudi city of Al-Ula on Tuesday.
"We welcome Kuwait's continued efforts towards regional security, including within the Gulf Cooperation Council framework," a NATO official told the Kuwait news agency (KUNA) today.
"NATO engages in regular consultations with all its' Gulf partners, at all levels, both in the region and at NATO Headquarters in Brussels," said the official speaking on condition of anonymity.
"We have a solid record of mutually beneficial long term-relations and cooperation with the Gulf countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the framework of our Istanbul Cooperation Initiative," the official added. (end)
