(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Austria announced on Wednesday registering 1,958 Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections, to raise total infections to 69,778.
The Austrian Ministry of Health said in a statement posted on its website that 52,617 patients recovered so far, while the pandemic death toll reached 925.
The government conducted more than 1.9 million Covid-19 tests all over the country.
A total of 960 Covid-19 patients are receiving medical treatments in hospitals, while 147 are at the Intensive Care Units.
The government announced lately wide-range strict measures to counter the second wave of Covid-19, to be activated by next Friday, including enforcement of wearing masks in public places, respecting social distancing, and using disinfecting substances in private and public shops.
They also restricted the gathering of more than six people inside private places, while no more than 12 people are allowed to gather outdoors. (end)
