United States reports decline in operating drilling rigs

Baker Hughes, Houston-based oilfield services company, published data on Friday saying that the number of active drilling rigs in the United States lost two to set at 254 rigs for this week, a yearly decline of 632.

The active drilling rigs are made up of 180 oil rigs working in the United States oil fields along with 71 gas drilling rigs, both declining one compared to the earlier week, along with three miscellaneous rigs, the same as the earlier week.

The 254 rigs are made up of 238 land drilling rigs, dropping two since a week ago, one inland water drilling rig along with 15 offshore drilling rigs, both the same as week ago.

21 of them are directional drilling rigs, 19 are vertical drilling rigs while 214 are horizontal drilling rigs.
