Russia declares 5,102 more positive COVID-19 cases


(MENAFN) According to a statement issued Wednesday by Russia's coronavirus response center, the overall figure of the confirmed COVID-19 cases across the country has risen to 902,701 as 5,102 more patients tested positive for the virus in the previous 24-hour period.

The center's announcement also showed that in the meantime, the brutal coronavirus claimed 129 more lives, lifting the national death toll to 15,260, whereas the total tally of patients who have survived the deadly infection has jumped by 7,123 to 710,298 compared to the last 24 hours.

The overwhelm majority of Russia's confirmed cases were reported from the capital city of Moscow, which recorded 689 of the state's newly-registered cases, with the city's total infections rising to 249,611.

Russia's consumer rights and human well-being watchdog Rospotrebnadzor declared in a statement that a number of 234,533 people were under medical surveillance by Wednesday.
