Kuwait- Sudanese ministers resign pending cabinet reshuffle


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, July 9 (KUNA) -- Sudanese Cabinet announced on Thursday accepting resignation of six ministers including those of the financial, external and energy portfolios pending a forthcoming reshuffle of the government.
The premiership said in a statement that Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok accepted the requests for being relived from the ministeries of foreign affairs, finance, energy, agriculture, transports, infrastructure and livestock. Meanwhile, the minister of health was dismissed.
The official statement indicated that other personalities were assigned as cartekaers until new ministers have been named.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Government agreed with the Forces of Freedom and Change and representatives of armed groups to allocate 75 percent of parliamentaryt seats to these factions. Moreover, they reached an understanding on granting them four ministerial posts in the Sovereignty Council.
Hamdok swore in on August 21 as the head of the government for an interim period lasting for 39 months. It should end with elections.
The forces of change activists held wide spread protests last December, prompting the army to oust (ex) president Omar Hassan Al-Bachir, on April 11. (end)
