BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The III Forum
of Azerbaijani Doctors residing in Germany has come to fruition in
Bonn. The event drew a crowd of over 200 doctors and medical
specialists hailing from 81 cities across the nation. Over the
course of a few days, Azerbaijani professionals scattered across
Germany had the chance to swap stories, forge new ties, and chew
the fat about matters close to their hearts.
Today, with the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict now in the
rearview mirror and Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and
sovereignty back in the saddle, the dynamics of the Azerbaijani
diaspora abroad have also taken a turn for the better. President of
Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly emphasized in his speeches
that he wants to see representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora
succeed in the countries where they live.
"Currently, there are millions of Azerbaijanis living abroad. Of
course, they are citizens of the countries in which they live. I
want them to achieve even higher positions in their countries of
residence and to play a more active role in their social,
political, and economic lives," the head of state said during the
4th Congress of World Azerbaijanis.
Azerbaijani compatriots living abroad symbolize a victorious
nation, and today's wins will enhance their confidence and inspire
more success. Artists, professionals, scientists, doctors,
educators, and entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan are becoming more
involved in their host nations. These countries' corporate, social,
and cultural leaders are thriving in diverse domains. Azerbaijan's
international image also depends on diaspora activity. Azerbaijanis
can strengthen horizontal business, public, scientific, cultural,
and other linkages as they flourish in their host country. In many
cases, public diplomacy is more effective than traditional
diplomacy. Supporting compatriots in their aspirations and
assisting in solving these tasks is one of the priorities of the
State Committee for Work with Diaspora, as set by President Ilham
Aliyev.
Moreover, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora plans to
provide additional informational tools for diaspora members in
Germany and other countries. These portals will enlighten our
compatriots of current events, provide important information, and
aid integration into their host countries. These services will also
include diaspora updates and substantial information about
Azerbaijan's achievements, art, tourist prospects, and more.
These resources will function as communication centers for
Azerbaijanis overseas. Professional hubs are intended to be
established around them, enabling our compatriots-such as
physicians in Germany-to convene, sustain professional
relationships, and share experiences.
