Compulsory quarantine for all arrivals in Jordan

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 16 (Petra) -- Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, on Monday announced a number of additional government precautionary measures to be implemented immediately, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and protect the public safety.
The procedures include imposing a compulsory quarantine on all arrivals to the Kingdom as follows:
All arrivals to Jordan through airports and border crossings, as of today, will be subject to mandatory quarantine for 14 days in dedicated hotel facilities in Amman and the Dead Sea, during which they will undergo the health procedures of the Ministry of Health.
Arrivals through airports and border crossings are not allowed to be received by their families or any person, as only authorized people are admitted into the arrival hall.
The arrivals will be transported to the designated quarantine.
Adaileh stressed the importance of fully adhering to the government preventive decisions, noting that authorities will take firm measures to ensure full compliance with preventive and precautionary measures, as part of concerns for the public safety.
"The government intends to approve more precautionary measures related to public transportation and work organizing in some institutions, to be announced later," he said.
The minister called on national media outlets to convey the truth by obtaining information only from official sources.
