0.63 percent rise in German stocks

German shares increased on Friday, the benchmark DAX index added 84.05 points, or 0.63 percent, to start the trading day at 13,513.48 points.

German utility RWE was the biggest winner out of Germany's 30 biggest listed companies at the beginning of trading was as its shares rose 3.86 percent, financial service provider Wirecard followed with a rise of 2.1 percent and pharmaceutical company Bayer increased 1.58 percent.

RWE shares continued to profit as Finance Minister Olaf Scholz announced on Thursday that compensations will be paid to the operators of coal-fired plants. RWE alone is going to get USD2.9 billion for switching off its coal plants as required by the national climate strategy.

Deutsche Telekom saw its shares drop 0.07 percent and it had the worst performance at the start of trading.
