Qatar takes part in expert group meeting on Arab media action plan abroad

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The first meeting of the expert group on the evaluation and updating of the Arab media action plan abroad started on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The Qatari delegation to the meeting is headed by Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi.
The meeting aims at conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the activities of the Arab media action plan abroad, including the incorporation of some amendments and new ideas, with the possibility of developing new activities to achieve optimal use in line with the priorities of Arab media action abroad during the current stage.
The team includes a number of media advisers from the Member States, in addition to a number of strategic planning experts who can assess the activities of the plan and provide proposals for its development and updating, in addition to an expert on Palestinian affairs and a financial and administrative expert.
The plan works on three main axes: the Palestinian cause, to inform the whole world about terrorist crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people, their land, sanctities and property, to combat the phenomenon of terrorism, to correct the negative stereotype of Arabs and Islam abroad and give a true image about them by achieving the wide spread of the Arab viewpoint towards these axes in light of the many changes that the Arab region has witnessed in the past years, followed by the defamation of the image of Arabs and Islam in the West. The plan has been updated several times to reflect these changes.
