Qatar- QC and CFTC discuss ways to boost trade ties

Qatar Chamber First Vice- Chairman, Mohamed bin Towar met last week with Vice President and Secretary General of China Foreign Trade Center (CFTC) and China Import and Export Fair (Canto Fair) Li Jinqi.

The meeting was attended by QC Second Vice Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba.

The meeting reviewed ways of strengthening cooperation between both parties in a view with developing trade enhance between both countries. It also examines preparation of China Import and Export Fair (Canto Fair) which is organised by Ministry of Trade at China and Public Government of Guangdong district.

On his part, Li Jinqi said that he is hopeful to see a number of Qatari companies in the 126th edition of the expo, which is the largest international trade expo, affirming that it would contribute to enhancing trade between China and world countries.

The fair is the largest platform for Chinese companies aiming at expanding world markets and implementing Chinese foreign trade development strategy.

The first stage of the fair will be organized between 15-19 October 2019, which will be specialized for electronic and electrical devices, building materials, metal tools, machineries and equipment.

The second stage will be from 31 Oct to November 4 and it will be for foodstuffs, beverages, home accessories, textiles and clothes.
Li underscored the importance of Qatari market, calling Qatari companies and businesspersons to visit the expo.

Twar said that China is an important trading partner for Qatar, noting that their trade exchange reached $50bn.He affirmed that Qatari companies are eager to forge trade alliances and transactions with Chinese companies. He also assured that Canton Fair is one of the most important trade exhibitions that attract Qatari businessmen.

Twar also stressed the Chamber's interest to encourage Qatari companies to take part in the fair which opens new areas of cooperation between both countries and enables Qatari exporters and importers to explore the Chinese market and enhance cooperation with their Chinese counterparts.
