Qatar- General Authority of Customs honours 21 inspectors for distinguished work

Doha: The General Authority of Customs recognised yesterday 21 of its inspectors from different authorities for their distinguished work. 

The Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, honoured the inspectors and praised their contribution to maintaining security in the country by preventing the entrance of banned substances that harm people and society. He said that these achievements were a result of state support that provides the best equipment and training to inspectors.  

One of the biggest achievements was in Hamad Port, where authorities seized over 10 tonnes of Paan and 460 kg of an illegal form of tobacco. In Hamad International Airport, authorities seized more than 31 tonnes of hash, and 1.171 Kg of heroin, among other illegal substances. 

The authority stressed its commitment to developing the skills of its workers and inspectors, as part of developing a comprehensive system that protects the state and society.
