(MENAFN) Last week, the Oman-Qatar Joint Committee held a meeting in Muscat and discussed ways to boost cooperation in several fields between the both nations, particularly in the economic sector.
The Omani party was headed by H E Darwish bin Ismail al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs while Ali Sharif al Emadi, Minister of Finance represented Qatar.
H E Balushi affirmed that the development reached by the committee in its former meetings and over the past years has made it an example in the field of bilateral cooperation. "It worked to overcome the obstacles facing the completion of projects, noting the most remarkable achievements in this area, include signing memoranda of understanding and joint programmes in several area. It also provided support to Qatar Primary Material Company for obtaining the concession necessary to carry out its work in quarries in Shinas."
Emadi, for his part, expressed thanks to sultanate for hosting the meetings of the 20th session of the Oman-Qatar Joint Committee which highlights the deep ties between the two countries.
