Five dead, two critically hurt in Panama City crash


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) FIVE people were killed in an early morning collision involving a speeding taxi which ignored deviation signs for construction work on Metro Line 2 and hit a sedan head-on in front of Panama€™s Metro Mall on Ave Domingo Díaz on Saturday, May 24.
All the dead were aged between 18 and 24 according to early reports The taxi driver and two women passengers were killed, along with the driver and a passenger in the sedan. The fatal victims were all between 18 and 24 years old.

Two women survivors were prised from the wreckage by Fire Service first responders and transferred to the Hospital Santo Tomás Hospital and the Arnulfo Arias Madrid hospital complex where they remain in critical condition.

Traffic Police report a greater number of traffic accidents on weekends due to causes such as speed, alcohol intake and imprudence in driving
