(MENAFN) A Turkish national fencing team coach has been imprisoned pending trial for sexually abusing a national athlete, aged 15, according to daily Hurriyet's columnist Ayse Arman.
The father of the victim, who remains unidentified, declared that his daughter was among many other girls who were sexually abused by the accused for years.
The father, aged 43, added: "[My daughter] has awards; she has attained international success. But lately she turned in on herself. We were thinking it was due to adolescence. But the reality was she was being subjected to her coach"s sexual abuse and harassment for three years. And we have just found out. My daughter told us this in tears."
"I hope this dirt gets a heavy punishment, "according to the father, who's a resident in the Alanya district of the Mediterranean province of Antalya.
