Morocco to help Notre Dame return


(MENAFN) Morocco announced that it was willing to lend France a hand in the reconstruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which was engulfed in flames on Monday.

King Mohammed VI is allocating a major amount of money for the rebuilding of the landmark cathedral, Ambassador Chakib Benmoussa notified Archbishop of Paris Michel Aupetit.

Reports confirmed that the envoy highlighted the Moroccan King's endorsement and condolences to France over the tragic incident.

A number of European countries already made a pledge to help rebuild the cathedral with Morocco being the first Arab nation to make that vow.
