Switzerland announces halt of weapons sales to Lebanon


(MENAFN) On Thursday, stated that he country will halt military weapons sales to Lebanon and its officials, local TV Channel LBCI reported.

Switzerland has delivered 40 pieces of military weapons to a previous minister in the former government, but has since been incapable to check out these arms according to pacts contracted between both nations.

"Switzerland wanted to check out these weapons to make sure that they did not go to an unknown party," she said, adding that teams sent from her country only managed to find 9 pieces of these arms.

The military collaboration between Lebanon and Switzerland will halt until the truth about these arms is disclosed, Kirgoz informed LBCI.
