8 die in Bangladesh slum fire

(MENAFN) Bangladesh police and firefighters say a fire devastating more than 200 slum houses in the port of Chittagong on Sunday, has killed over eight people and injured more than 50.
One fire official said the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
Bangladesh is an impoverished country where safety regulations are rarely applied and accidents kill hundreds every year.
