Indonesia: 13 die in overloaded boat overturn


(MENAFN) Senior rescuer declared that rescuers have recovered 13 bodies after an overloaded wooden boat overturned in a river in central Indonesia at weekend.

Leader of the rescue team Agus Haryono confirmed that search and rescue mission discovered eight corpses n Monday, four more on Tuesday and the remaining were discovered soon after the incident took place in West Kalimantan province.

He added: "Some of the bodies were found in a distance of 20 km in the downstream of the river, and some others were found near the incident site."

With the discovery of all uncounted people, the search and rescue mission was called off on Tuesday, according to the spokesman.
