Qatar- Ministry warns against consuming Peru grapes


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Public Health has warned the public from eating grapes originating from Peru, due to the possibility of its contamination with pesticide residues.

The ministry said there has been an international warning on the matter. It also said that it is currently adopting all procedures to reduce any potential risks expected to reach the consumer and co-ordinate with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to ensure that the markets do not sell the grapes.

The ministry said, samples have been sent for laboratory analysis and notices have been dispatched to the State's ports to seize any grape shipments.

The Ministry of Public Health has urged people who have bought these grapes not to consume them.
