Tokyo: car crash wounds 5 pedestrians


(MENAFN) Local Police declared that a car driven by an elderly man crashed into a sidewalk in Tokyo's busy Shinjuku district on Wednesday and wounded five people.

The police added that the collision took place at about 1:30 p.m. local time on a busy shopping street in Shinjuku.

The accident happened about 100 meters east of JR Shinjuku Station, a key transportation hub in central Tokyo.

The driver claimed "I had already crashed the car before I realized it,", explaining that he was choking after drinking some tea.
