Ukrainian tennis player Svitolina wins Open de Caen


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, world No. 4, has won the Open de Caen tournament in the French city of Cannes.

Svitolina beat 30th seed Aliaksandra Sasnovich from Belarus in the final of the show tournament, in which four tennis players participated, according to Ukraine's tennis news site BTU.

The match lasted one hour and 49 minutes and ended 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in favor of the Ukrainian.

On their way to the Open de Caen final, Svitolina defeated world No. 1205 Manon Leonard from France, while Sasnovich beat Bulgarian Elitsa Kostova (215th seed).

In December 2017, Svitolina defeated Audrey Albie in the final of the tournament in Cannes.

Svitolina will begin her performance in 2019 in Brisbane.
